Viseon announced the first clinical use of the next generation of the MaxView™ System for Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion (OLIF™). MaxView provides high definition, intraoperative visualization of the surgical field on a head’s up monitor display that is unobstructed by surgeon hands or instruments.

This next-generation device includes integrated LED light guides that improve illumination of the surgical field to produce a high-resolution image. The new light guides have adjustable intensity levels to provide the optimal amount of lighting required, depending on the depth of the anatomy, and may reduce procedural cost by eliminating the need for third-party light guides. MaxView is reportedly the only technology that offers surgeons a single-use, ergonomic visualization option with the depth of field and illumination required for minimally invasive lateral procedures.

Zazie Peltier, Viseon Director of Marketing, said, “The use of MaxView may lead to more rapid adoption and a safer learning curve for young surgeons training in minimally invasive lateral lumbar surgery. The rapid evolution of the MaxView System is yet another milestone Viseon has attained and demonstrates Viseon’s ability to offer surgeons the capability to quickly evolve and meet the demands of improved patient care.”
